Tiny Treasures

We’re particularly proud of our collection of Limoges. At any given time, we might have petite boxes that replicate everything from le lapin (a rabbit) to a fine bottle of merlot.

French Quarters, Lapin Limoges

The name for these highly collectible pieces comes from the city in which they originated. Limoges, France—approximately 200 miles southwest of Paris—is where major deposits of kaolin clay were discovered in the 18th century. As a result, the region quickly became known for its fine porcelain china and boxes. Each piece of Limoges is hand-signed in French, indicating that it’s an original. If you turn over a box and find Peint main (hand painted) on the bottom, you’ll know you have the real thing!

Hi, if you enjoy exceptionally beautiful porcelain china figurines check out Lomonosov.
Just google the name and you’ll see a Wikipedia site at the top (naturally) and I think the first site is called Lomonosov-Russia (?) or something like that. Just pull it up and navigate to the “figurines” area (it’s all laid out in front of you. As an option you could pull up
Lomonosov Russia and check out their catalogue on E-Bay. I think you’ll be impressed.

    G.K.
